boyfriends with girlfriendsThe author of the Rainbow Boys series is back with a stand-alone novel that explores the definitions of sexuality, stereotypes and prejudices.

Boyfriends with Girlfriends revolves around two sets of best friends and their possible love interests. Sergio is bi-sexual and is interested in Lance. Lance knows how he feels about Sergio, but isn’t too sure on how he feels about bi-sexuality. Lance’s best friend Allie has always like guys. That is until she meets Kimiko, Sergio’s friend. Kimiko is a lesbian attempting to navigate her sexuality while living in the constraints of her Japanese-American home.

Alex Sanchez once again hits the nail on the head, giving us a pitch-perfect rendition of young love and discovering who you really are.

This is the story of Will Grayson…and Will Grayson. Two teenage boys living in suburban Chicago just happen to have the same name. They lead separate lives until one fateful night brings them to the city, and an even more unlikely location.

The first Will Grayson lives by two rules: 1. Don’t care too much and 2. Shut up. He tries to fly under the radar at his school. This is not easy if your best friend is Tiny Cooper. Will describes Tiny as “the world’s largest person who is really, really gay” or “the world’s gayest person who is really, really large.” Either way Tiny does not keep a low profile. Now Tiny wants to put on a musical autobiography, Tiny Dancer (love the title), and has enlisted bf Will Grayson to help. Other Will Grayson is your average teen that hates everything and everyone. Except Isaac, his online crush. He’s the only one Will can rely on. When he’s not ignoring his mother or dissing his friend Maura, Will is online. Everything changes when he makes plans to finally meet Isaac.

Will Grayson meets Will Grayson and their lives are changed forever. Brought together by chance or fate, the two Will Grayson’s discover they have more than a name in common. With the help of Tiny Cooper, both Will Grayson’s find out what it means to be a friend and truly love someone, or even more difficult… let someone love you.

John Green and David Levitahan co-author for the first time and strike literary gold with Will Grayson, Will Grayson.
