The World from the Side of the Moon by Phillip Phillips  phillip phillips album

Phillip Phillips won American Idol’s 11th season in May 2012. He released his first single, Home, shortly after and it has taken off. The song is still inescapable on radio airwaves. It has a country feel combined with Phillips’ Dave Matthews-esq voice making it a true pop hit.

I attended a Phillip Phillips concert recently and he is the real deal. He sat on stage with his guitar and a microphone belting out the songs. He didn’t seem truly comfortable on stage but that just added to his charm. The fans in the audience screamed for him the entire time and he was embarrassed by it. It was a great show.

His debut album is enjoyable from the first song to the last. He includes a cover of Chris Isaak’s Wicked Game that doesn’t disappoint. I recommend picking up this album for a listen. Gone, Gone, Gone is the new single. An inspiring song about a relationship.

Excerpt from Gone, Gone, Gone by Phillip Phillips

“You’re my backbone
You’re my cornerstone
You’re my crutch when my legs stop movin’
You’re my head start
You’re my rugged heart
You’re the pulse that I’ve always needed”
